"According to the Ahrefs study, only 5.7% of pages rank in the top 10 search results within the first year for at least one keyword."

This is one of the major obstacles to getting content marketers to take SEO seriously. The wait time for results is the main reason for the high attrition rate in marketers using this strategy (in my opinion).

Google ranks articles based on a lot of factors, including the quality of our content, the relevance of keywords, and the authority of the site. This is one reason why time and consistency pay off in SEO.

We're all used to instant ramen, binge watching and at-home delivery these days. Waiting three to six months; even a year seems like an eternity. Yet, the end result is magical.

When the traffic numbers start to come in and we watch week after week of steady growth, it's amazing. Comparisons of oil well gushers abound.

I agree that we need to pay attention to things like low hanging fruit, long tail keywords, latent semantic value and other keyword optimization in our work.

Tools like Ahrefs, LSIGraph and Google Search Console really help.

We also have to be sure to write copy that's engaging and interesting at the same time. Make it easy for readers to find the topic. Let's not forget optimizing graphics!

Write well-written sentences that flow together to grab the reader's attention. Paint a picture for the reader with active verbs. Leave our readers with something for their time investment.

For many writers, SEO is difficult... until it's understood.

I do agree that it's essential to our craft to learn and apply optimization principles.

Thank you for another insightful article. I'm looking forward to reading your book "How to Hit Google Front Page".
