If you’ve read my articles on self-improvement, you know that I have ADHD without a doubt. My life is full of projects and ideas for projects—far more than I can accomplish in one lifetime. That’s because I am an artist, writer, business consultant, and publisher. I spend my days coming up with new and crazy schemes. One of the biggest issues that creatives face in life, is finishing personal projects.

The Dropout Dilemma

What if you’ve put a lot of work into a campaign or project, but after some success, things aren’t going as well as they used to, and your motivation to keep going has gone down as well? Should you keep going?

When working on a project, it can be frustrating when you run into mental and physical roadblocks. All of us have been there. We’ve also been told to “keep pushing” and “don’t stop until you succeed.”

You may ask yourself if all that hard work is good for your physical and mental health. Does it still make sense? Is it time to take a break when you don’t feel you’re making any progress and the project is taking up more time than it is worth?
