There comes a time in every business owner’s life when they have to stand up and say, “enough is enough.” That is the day when you decide to take charge of your marketing. I know what it’s like. A lot of my time before getting into digital marketing was spent thinking about leads. I sold Yellow Pages advertising in my younger days. Many small businesses struggled with the changes. I was heavily influenced by the late Chet Holmes; one of my trainers and mentors.

I learned a lot about who my true audience is and how to reach them. Everything you do as a business owner should be geared to finding them and engaging with them. What are their hot buttons and their questions? What do they value and what solutions have they tried and failed at? How do they find answers and what preconceptions do they hold?

The marketing avatar is an average depiction of your ideal customer. You can create tailored content and marketing strategies based on this information. Therefore, you can provide a solution to their problems and cater to their specific needs.

What you are looking at is the story behind your audience. Starting with that principle will change your business overnight. By understanding your customer better than they know themselves, you’ll be able to communicate easier and convert them to customers.

A competitive analysis will help you increase your brand value while increasing sales conversion. Research your competitors continuously. The best way to avoid sounding repetitive is to know them better than they know themselves.

Many small business owners don’t keep tabs on their competition regularly. You may also find that you’re too busy to communicate with customers and prospects. The more you avoid it, the more money you might lose. Online sales can’t be increased through trial and error, as you already know.

For years, I have been promoting video marketing to small businesses as a staple for lead generation. It is still important for you to find out what your competitors are doing so that you can improve. In addition, you need to research who your target audience is and what they really want. As soon as you have these two factors in place, you will convert prospects into customers much more easily.

I will discuss some benefits of video marketing in this article. This article helps explain why video marketing is so essential for your online marketing strategy to people who are confused about video marketing.

1. Stand out from the crowd. With video marketing, you can showcase your personality and let your customers know that you’re not just another faceless company out there trying to sell them something. The potential client will see who you are and how you’re different from your competitors.

2. Educate your viewers. Your audience can get to know more about their niche or goals through video marketing. Describe what you want your audience to understand about your niche and how they can achieve their objectives. For example, if you’re selling weight loss products, take your audience through a real-life situation from struggling to achievement. This is a great way to encourage your audience to take part.

3. Make a connection. Videos are a great way to connect with your audience by making them the focus. When you urge your audience to connect with you through videos, you can learn a lot about them. Ask your audience for feedback. You can do this in some unique ways. If you’re among the millions of introverts who don’t feel like being in front of the stage, there are ways to handle this with less effort.

4. Build a bond. You can establish trust with your audience by using videos. Your videos don’t have to be long. A video answering a question of approximately three minutes is ideal. In contrast to reading from a long-winded script, audiences are more likely to trust you when you show them your actions.

5. Personalize your videos. Those with a sense of personality and a genuine connection with the audience attract others with ease. Be as genuine as possible when presenting your videos. There are always people who can speak to you if you are not comfortable on camera. Have a good-looking head shot superimposed in the corner over your video presentation. That’s perfectly fine. There’s no need to be on screen live.

6. Branding in videos works well. Making your brand more visible through videos is a good idea. By seeing you in a video before, your audience knows who you are and what you stand for. Posting a video on your website and social media accounts allows you to show your expertise and authority in your field.

7. Demo your products. Videos are a great way to show off your product. Use your video to show how your weight loss product works, whether it’s a physical product or a digital one. Show how the physical product works as well as how it looks. You can show how to use digital products if you are selling them. Your product can be shown to help your audience reach their goals and to help them save time and money in both scenarios.

8. You can generate traffic with videos. People will naturally want to learn more about you after establishing you as an expert in your field. You may be asked how you helped others solve their problems. You can easily increase traffic to your blog or website if you use video marketing.

9. You can create back links with videos. The more you share your video online, the more backlinks you’ll attract. Whenever someone shares your video with their friends or followers, they are building backlinks to your site.

Congratulations–you now know the value of video marketing to your business. So the next thing you need to do is take action. Because the sooner you engage with an audience willing to give you their money, the sooner you will reap the benefits.

Remember, it all starts with knowing who your most receptive audience really is. Next, you must be able to stay ahead of your competition. One way to do that is to be more engaged with the people who want and need what you are selling. Next time, let’s talk about how to make effective videos.
