Effective Email Marketing for a Successful Freelance Career

Let’s not kid ourselves. Freelance writing is no glamorous adventure. It’s often a lonely pursuit. Some of us spend more time trying to figure out if the work we’re doing is great, while the rest of us kid ourselves into thinking that we’re one assignment away from hitting the motherlode.

However, when done correctly, freelance writing can be very rewarding. That means marketing ourselves and our skills to the people who will pay well. One way to do this is with email marketing.

Email Marketing Gets the Job Done

Email marketing can reach a lot of people in a short time. However, there are ways to conduct email marketing that work for freelancers that are a lot different from email marketing for products.

Marketing your service requires you to present your ideas or samples to the people who are responsible for getting you paid. They have to see the value in your service and justify the cost. Email marketing can get your foot in the door, but the selling is all on your shoulders.

Selling a product is different. You could send out a million emails and let the chips fall where they may. Prospects will either buy it or ignore it.
