I seem to remember a lot of "sturm und drang" over a certain Harvard Law School graduate who became POTUS. For some reason, questioning his citizenship and his educational merits didn't count as racist or bigoted to those who did.

Those were just "important questions" to ensure that the president was who he said he was.

None of those curious minds blinked at the fact that Justice Clarence Thomas benefited from affirmative action when he enrolled in Yale Law School in the 70s. Of course, Justice Thomas wants to close the door now that he's a member of the country club.
