I'm excited to see this movie as well. I don't expect it to be any more historically accurate than Mel Gibson's Braveheart.
The past is filled with too many cultural and social norms that we would find distasteful and downright disgusting to our current sensibilities.
The point of these stories is not to accurately portray historical events but to spark our imagination. Mel Gibson's hero was enjoyable entertainment but fictional. We need heroes and villains in our stories. They help to move our emotions along for the journey.
I suspect our warrior queen will be just as fascinating, inspiring, and fictional.
That's fine. This has been the role of entertainment since the time of Homer and the Ilad and the Oddessy.
