Mr. Thiel reminds me of the people who are so wrapped up in their zeal to further their own goals that they neglect to notice that the people they've aligned themselves with are more than happy to eat them alive once they have the power to do so.

Most of these rich men who consider themselves libertarians are cozying up to authoritarians in hopes of securing their own destinies. It's like the rabbits hiring the wolves to secure the farm in hopes that the wolves will continue to be grateful to them once they are in charge.
