Thank you for this. I keep pointing out to my Evangelical brothers and sisters that there is no reason to rush. The essential message that Jesus left us wasn't about sitting around waiting for His return. He wanted us to follow the principles left by Moses that bound the Israelites to Yahweh.

Jesus was a teacher as well as a preacher. Although he taught in parables, there's nothing equivocal about what he asked us to do.

We are to honor God by following His commandments.

We are to love one another as we should love ourselves.

As James tirelessly points out, it's not enough to exhibit faith; we have to put in the work. Far too often, the teachings are left behind in favor of focusing on His return.
