The argument in favor of rational solutions to abortion is lost on conservative deaf ears. The issue isn't really about the sanctity of life. It's about the control of women who are able to produce offspring. It's about power and control.

This is evident in the total lack of awareness or promotion for solutions to the high rate of misscarriages in the US. None of the pro-birth defenders even mention the issue.

Giving birth can be fatal for mother and child. Pre-natal care is hardly on their radar. In fact, health coverage is nowhere to be found in their manifesto.

Unfortunately, this is issue basically a grift used to foster outrage and political action. The issue pulls heartstrings, gathers votes and opens purse strings.
